Black Reishi Mushroom Liquid Culture
(Ganoderma sinense)
Explore one of the most striking Reishi species with our premium Black Reishi liquid culture. Ganoderma sinense is known for its glossy, dark caps and long history of use in traditional herbal practices. While not typically grown for culinary purposes, it is excellent for making teas, tinctures, or simply for cultivation and observation.
Prepared under sterile lab conditions and suspended in a nutrient-rich solution, this culture is ideal for hardwood substrates and long-term growing projects. A striking and versatile addition to any mushroom collection.
Features:
- 1x 10ml of high-quality, actively growing culture
- 1x sterile needle
- Tested to ensure only mushroom mycelium is present
- Ideal for hardwood sawdust, logs, or supplemented substrates
- Suitable for expansion to grain, agar, or other media
Suitable Substrates:
- Hardwood sawdust
- Enriched sawdust blocks
- Sterilized wood chips or logs
How to Use:
-
Shake Before Use
Gently shake the syringe to evenly distribute the mycelium throughout the liquid. -
Work Sterile
Ensure a clean work environment. Use a still air box or laminar flow hood, and sanitize all surfaces, tools, and gloves with 70% isopropyl alcohol. -
Inoculate Substrate
Inject 1–2 ml of liquid culture into your sterile substrate. Black Reishi thrives on hardwood or enriched sawdust mixes. Use a sterile needle and injection port for best results. -
Incubate
Keep inoculated containers in the dark at 24–28°C (75–82°F). Ganoderma species are slow colonizers. Allow 3–5 weeks for full colonization. -
Introduce to Fruiting Conditions
Move to a high-humidity fruiting chamber with fresh air exchange and indirect light. Fruiting pins may take several weeks to form. Reishi prefers warmer fruiting temps (22–28°C / 72–82°F). Keep the bag sealed if you are growing antlers, open the bag for conks.
Store under 5°C. Refrigerate.
Use within 3 months for best results
Note on Packaging:
You may receive a “Beta Label” that lists Dextrose. We’ve since swapped to an Extra Light Malt Extract (ELME) formula for superior and more consistent mycelial growth. We are simply using up our remaining label stock to reduce waste!
